AMANAZARETHA

The Nazareth Baptist Church is the second largest African initiated church based in South Africa and was founded in 1910. The church was originally groomed from missionary churches but aimed to maintain the customs and practices upheld in Zulu society. AmaNazaretha documents the gatherings within the church while observing the threads that demonstrate the churches’ preparedness to celebrate the Zulu’s abundant history and ways whilst embracing global inventions into their cultural aesthetic.
